What must we do to protect the right to vote and combat disinformation?

A distinguished panel of current and former elected officials will share their expertise and efforts to safeguard our democracy.

 

Meet Our Panelists


Bill Monning, CA State Senate Majority Leader Emeritus, served in the CA Legislature from 2008-2020. Currently he is a member of the Advisory Group of the California Initiative for Technology and Democracy working to combat AI-generated disinformation.

Tyller Williamson is the Mayor of Monterey and served on the Monterey City Council from 2018 - 2022. He has a proven track record of bringing people of diverse backgrounds together to accomplish common goals. 



Anna Velazquez, Mayor of Soledad, is also the District Director for Senator Anna Caballero and serves on the Board of the Housing Resource Center of Monterey County. Currently, she is also working to protect voter rights in Soledad.

Chaps Poduri is a Councilmember of the City of Pacific Grove and has focused his efforts on economic development and diversity, equity and inclusion. He is a banker by profession and has been directly involved with city, state and federal agencies throughout his professional career.
