WENDY ROOT ASKEW is a champion of women, families, and youth in Monterey County. As a top aide to Supervisor Jane Parker, Wendy is deeply involved with serving the needs of every District 4 community, with a focus on economic opportunities for working families, increasing transparency and accountability, improving access to quality healthcare, violence prevention, and protecting our natural resources and economic vitality.

WINI CHAMBLISS has served the Monterey Peninsula for 42 years. She was a Trustee of the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education for 10 years and president for seven years. She championed redistricting efforts that increased minority representation on the board and helped navigate the school district through the Ft. Ord base closure. She has worked at Hartnell College, managing administrative services, and at the Monterey County Water Resources Agency.

STEVE McSHANE is a third-term Salinas City Councilman, with 20 years of public service. He is currently Chair of Policy for Monterey Bay Air Resources District, a member of the California State Van Pool Authority, on the board for the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments and the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. He is also a founding member of Monterey Bay Community Power and a Board member of Community Health Services.

ALEX MILLER and his partner are raising their three-year-old daughter in Seaside. He works in local schools and is the chair of the Neighborhood Improvement Commission for the City of Seaside. He is attending Law School with a projected graduation date of May 2020. His campaign is focusing on holding county government accountable and putting fairness in the forefront so that the residents of Monterey County will feel respected and valued.
