Join the Democratic Women of Monterey County and Former journalist, business owner, and podcaster, Yvonne Thomas for a conversation about women and the media.
Buffet dinner will include tri-tip. seasonal vegetables, and a vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free cauliflower steaks topped with a maple-mustard glaze, along with salads and dessert. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
ABOUT YVONNE THOMAS
Yvonne Thomas is a veteran journalist, media consultant, and small business owner currently celebrating her 26th year as the CEO of Precision Creative Services. Her company specializes in the creation of closed captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing and subtitling in multiple languages for network and cable television programs and feature films. She currently hosts the Central Coast Conversations with Yvonne Thomas podcast.
Yvonne was born in Fort Ord and raised in Seaside. She was the first African American student at the University of Southern California to graduate with a degree in Sports Information-Broadcast Journalism. After graduating from USC, she began an extensive career in senior management in the field of television post-production. She was the head of West Coast operations at the National Captioning Institute (NCI), the largest provider of closed captioning services for television and feature films nationwide, and she was also a management consultant for the European Captioning Institute in London, England.
Yvonne serves on several local nonprofit boards. She is the Vice Chairman of the Hospice Giving Foundation Board of Directors, and she will become Board Chair in July 2025. She also currently serves as Co-Chairman of the Monterey County District Attorney’s Multi-Cultural Council, Vice Chairman of the City of Seaside’s Community Safety Advisory Commission, is an Advisory Board member of the Salvation Army Monterey Corps, and she was recently appointed to the Monterey County Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council. Yvonne is also the immediate past President of the Monterey County NAACP.
